Easter Sunday

It's a bit late but I wanted to update on Easter Sunday! 'Twas a wonderful occasion! 7 of our students were baptized/confirmed and I had the privilege of participating in it :) It's been a blessing to be part of these kids' lives. Ministry is a truly sanctifying experience... but more on that next time :) Meet some of my lovely students!
The weather was perfect and my colorful skirt made things feel even brighter! But more than that, my heart is overjoyed that our Lord has risen! YAYYY!!!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead- 1 Peter 1:3

new york new york!

To celebrate spring break, a group of us at Westmin decided to go to New York. The three Dans worked really hard to plan transportation and the schedule for the day. Thanks Dans! We met at 6:15 am -__- and made our way to Jersey, Jersey to Staten Island, train to ferry, Brooklyn to Manhattan. We had A LOT of traveling to do.
on the ferry
We got to try the famous Grimaldi's. I remember my old youth group pastor Kwon rave about the pizza under the bridge with melting cheese. It was good. But I'm not really a pizza person. Pizza is pizza lol.
After some shopping in Soho, we made our way over to Eileen's Special Cheesecake. This place supposedly has the best cheesecake ever! I didn't try it because I was so thirsty, but looking at the pictures makes me regret not eating it :(
Then we made our way to the famous Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. There was a huge line but it was worth it. I tried the Shack Stack, which is a cheeseburger with fried portobello filled with cheese. YUMMMM!!!! I'm craving it again.
Celebrity sighting!!!!! Do you guys recognize her?! She was Jessica in the movie Crazy Stupid Love. Her real name is Analeigh Tipton. I walked out of the store and I kept staring at her because I knew she was somebody, but I didn't know from where. I thought it was from America's Next Top Model, which she was in too! But anyway, Esther and I were super excited to see her :) We later saw Rascal Flatts in Times Square but I wasn't able to take a picture (sorry Jane)
The girls and the boys
Group picture!!!!
I wasn't able to take pictures later on in the day, but we went to Magnolia Bakery and had banana pudding. I don't want to brag but it really tasted the same as mine. But then again, I used their recipe. I was just surprised that it tasted exactly the same. Afterwards, I met up with one of my old youth group students, Sarah. I think I spotted David Choi while eating chicken and rice too. Oh, New York, how I love thee! I was so sad to leave behind all the yum food and shopping. But I will definitely be back soon!

Oh, yea! Updating on this NY trip made me realize that I didn't update on my last NY trip with Joan. That'll be coming soon! :)

Spring Break in Central Jersey

Alas, my spring break is over :( but a girl can reminisce right? The first day of my spring break was spent with the hospitable Allison & James in central Jersey. Christina and I made our way to their home where we were greeted with the adorable Sophie. Isn't she so cute!!??!!! I want to kidnap her :)
We had lunch at an all-you-can-eat KBBQ buffet called Picnic Garden. YUMM! It's nice to have meat once in a while.
After, we met up with Esther, who also lives in Central NJ and stopped by a stationary store inside H-MART. Do you see our excitement? We were so excited and had to be stopped from buying the entire store.
Afterwards, we made our way to a boba (bubble tea in the east) place. They had decorations of Jeremy Lin on the walls. If you look close enough, you can even see his sweat LOL.
I had the Japanese matcha milk tea. YUM!!!!! It's one of the better bobas I've had since moving to the east side. Bear with the many pictures of boba, I realllllllyyyyy missed it :)
I should probably introduce my friends. I'm going to make more of an effort to take less pictures of food and more pictures of people :) Meet Allison, Christina, and Esther. They are some of the wonderful women that have been a huge influence in my first year at seminary.
Eating, talking, stationary, boba, and friends... a great way to start off my spring break!!!!

banana pudding all day

Last November, Joan and I went to New York and tried the famous Magnolia Bakery's banana pudding. It was DELICIOUS!!! So good! Randomly, while I was perusing online, I came across the actual recipe from the Magnolia Bakery's cookbook. You will not regret making it! You'll have banana pudding for days and smell like it. HAHA!

I couldn't just keep the wealth to myself, so I decided to have some friends over and party it up... seminary style -__- (lame I know).
meet some of the lovely WTS ladies
It was so good, I literally had a jar everyday and ate it with that enthusiasm pictured above LOL. Banana pudding... equally good with company or alone. NOW GO MAKE SOME!

Bath FAIL!

So... I never got to take my bath... Why? Because the steam caused the fire alarm to go off -__- My ears are still ringing from the piercing alarm. It was so embarrassing to explain to the firefighters that the smoke detector went off from the steam. They just laughed it off, but I don't think my dorm mates were laughing. SO SORRY! But in the midst of the chaos, I still managed to take a video of what I went through for 15 minutes... now that's dedication :)

Ghetto

Greetings! I've been enjoying my baths or half-baths (반신욕) these days. Half-baths are really good for people who have really cold hands and feet (bad circulation like the acupuncturist would say). And I do know that some of you who read this will scoff at me, but it really does work! Don't hate! But anyway, since this building is older than my grandma, my roommate and I could never find a plug that fit.... so duct tape to the RESCUE!!!!!!! It's ghetto, but it works beautifully.

I am officially on spring break or as Westminster would call it "reading week". But I refuse to do work!!!!!! I'm ready for a well deserved break. Yaayyyy!!! Okay, must go! My bath is calling!
