Life Lately

I've been under the weather for about 3 weeks now! So life has consisted of cooking at home and watching The Voice with the roomies. We are totally addicted! As you can see our place is a bit of a mess, but it is feeling much more homey than before. I'll have to do an apartment tour soon :)

I recently bought a slow cooker and I have been addicted to that thing! It is so easy to use, just set it and forget it.  Plus, the food turns out muy delicioso. I've been making chickpea, lentil stew and honey curried chicken. YUM YUM! Everyone should go buy a crock pot right now! Go now!

The weather here has been super cold. I am freezing all the time! And I'm getting nervous for the winter here. I don't want to shovel snow off the car everyday! I don't even know how to prepare myself. Us Cali people have it way too easy. The weather here has been like Cali winter and people are wearing shorts and t-shirts, while I'm busting out my heavy-duty winter coats....  Please pray that I don't die this winter, thanks :)

Our Humble Abode

Welcome to our humble abode! It is still a work in progress but it is so cozy! After being blessed with a year in the dorms, it was time to move out! I've been enjoying the nice view, private kitchen, side dishes that my momma sent me and decorating off of a poor grad student budget. Oh, what a life! God is good and He is good to provide this home for me.

New York Photo Diary Pt. 2

This is part 2 of my trip to NYC. Looking back on these pictures, I'm super excited for Autumn to come! Autumn in the East is just amazing. We don't have 4 seasons in the West coast, we have like two seasons. Autumn is so vibrant and full of life. Definitely my favorite season of the year, anddddd my favorite season of fashion. Oh Autumn! Come soon! And for those on the West side! Come soon! :D

New York Photo Diary

As you all know, there's been A LOT of studying going on. So I thought it was time for a break...a photo break. I wish I could go and cruise the streets of NYC but alas, this will have to do for now. These pictures are seriously wayyy overdue. One of my best friends, Joan, visited me last fall and we took a quick trip up to New York. New York is amazing! The food, the shopping, so many places to go and be! I love love love this city! More pictures to follow!

Missing the West Side

Instead of studying, I was going through my phone reminiscing about the west side. Recently, I haven't been craving anything but looking at pictures of garlic fries, mojitos, and El Taurino makes me HUNGRY!!!! I miss the girlfriends and mis padres. West coast, can't you come here instead?

Where does it talk about coffee in the Bible???

HEBREWSSS!!!!!!! --___-- I know!!! Lame, right?!? But thanks to John, I just had to include it, especially when I'm talking about Hebrew... You've brainwashed me!

So I've been really MIA these past months. A lot has happened, and a lot has changed, or at least it feels like it. Right now, I'm in the middle of summer Hebrew, and surprisingly it is quite enjoyable! I heard horrible things about it and so I was dreading/scared of it. But I really really like it! I feel my nerdy side coming out :) Hebrew & ministry are literally the only things I do these days... It's crazy to think that only 2 weeks ago, I had no idea how to read the Hebrew bible, but now I'm one step closer to reading it in the OG language. So exciting!!!! Dorky right? I've been studying so much that I had a bloody nose! I have to admit it was pretty exciting. PUAHAHA! I felt like the girl in the korean dramas, who studies hard while wearing a ridiculous headband that says, "아자아자! 화이팅!" Anywaysss.... whether you're studying hard or playing hard... 아자아자! Hope to see ya'll soon in the west side!

Easter Sunday

It's a bit late but I wanted to update on Easter Sunday! 'Twas a wonderful occasion! 7 of our students were baptized/confirmed and I had the privilege of participating in it :) It's been a blessing to be part of these kids' lives. Ministry is a truly sanctifying experience... but more on that next time :) Meet some of my lovely students!
The weather was perfect and my colorful skirt made things feel even brighter! But more than that, my heart is overjoyed that our Lord has risen! YAYYY!!!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead- 1 Peter 1:3

new york new york!

To celebrate spring break, a group of us at Westmin decided to go to New York. The three Dans worked really hard to plan transportation and the schedule for the day. Thanks Dans! We met at 6:15 am -__- and made our way to Jersey, Jersey to Staten Island, train to ferry, Brooklyn to Manhattan. We had A LOT of traveling to do.
on the ferry
We got to try the famous Grimaldi's. I remember my old youth group pastor Kwon rave about the pizza under the bridge with melting cheese. It was good. But I'm not really a pizza person. Pizza is pizza lol.
After some shopping in Soho, we made our way over to Eileen's Special Cheesecake. This place supposedly has the best cheesecake ever! I didn't try it because I was so thirsty, but looking at the pictures makes me regret not eating it :(
Then we made our way to the famous Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. There was a huge line but it was worth it. I tried the Shack Stack, which is a cheeseburger with fried portobello filled with cheese. YUMMMM!!!! I'm craving it again.
Celebrity sighting!!!!! Do you guys recognize her?! She was Jessica in the movie Crazy Stupid Love. Her real name is Analeigh Tipton. I walked out of the store and I kept staring at her because I knew she was somebody, but I didn't know from where. I thought it was from America's Next Top Model, which she was in too! But anyway, Esther and I were super excited to see her :) We later saw Rascal Flatts in Times Square but I wasn't able to take a picture (sorry Jane)
The girls and the boys
Group picture!!!!
I wasn't able to take pictures later on in the day, but we went to Magnolia Bakery and had banana pudding. I don't want to brag but it really tasted the same as mine. But then again, I used their recipe. I was just surprised that it tasted exactly the same. Afterwards, I met up with one of my old youth group students, Sarah. I think I spotted David Choi while eating chicken and rice too. Oh, New York, how I love thee! I was so sad to leave behind all the yum food and shopping. But I will definitely be back soon!

Oh, yea! Updating on this NY trip made me realize that I didn't update on my last NY trip with Joan. That'll be coming soon! :)
